Today the campers
spent time getting to know one another. With a whole new set of fresh faces to
meet, the task was daunting! The Panthers, Tigers, and Jaguars had spent most of
the morning working with ice-breakers and making new friends. By the time they
reached art class, they knew each other’s names, but not much else besides
that. As a result, we found ways to get to know all of our peers. It was
Personal Poster Time!
Personal
Posters are a great way to learn about people you don’t know all to well. Using
magazine clippings, markers, pencil, construction paper, the campers had to
create a poster all about themselves that included 10 of their favorite things.
Taylor Swift and pizza were the most popular choices. Once each camper had
finished their posters, we returned to our circle to share three of our ten
favorite things. Every time someone mentioned a fact that was on your poster as
well you had to raise your hand. By the end all the campers were ready to
embark on an awesome summer with their peers.
